Abstract

The author develops his idea concerning history of philosophy of religion by matching all the three lenses of its vision known in history of this area of philosophy: (1) in the wider sense (as philosophy-in-religion); (2) in the narrower sense (as philosophy-on-religion) and (3) in both senses. It is argued that models (1) and (3) are logically incoherent while model (2) is the only correct one but needs factual amplification. It is in inverted perspective wherein division of philosophy of religion into periods (from the following stages to foregoing) is sketched, i.e. from its contemporary position up to the initial working experiences with philosophy-on-religion in Antiquity. The question is stated and answered, in what degree may we speak about parallels of this philosophy in the Ancient East.
