Abstract
The Censuses in the late XIXth cent. – 1970es proved that almost 100% of the population of Mexico confessed Catholicism. However to the beginning of the XXIst century Catholic Church seems to loose its positions. The last Census exposed that many Mexican citizens confessed to be the adherents of some other forms of religion, before unconsidered. In the present article will be discussed the local religious movement and beliefs of the Huichol Indians (Mexico).
