- The article is devoted to the diplomatic circumstances of the beginning of the war between France and Russia in 1812. The question of the reasons for the excess by the Russian Ambassador A.B. Kurakin his powers and the actions of the French Ambassador J. Lauriston, who, contrary to the instructions from Paris, tried to delay the formal declaration of the war to Russia is especially considered.
