Abstract
In the article the author shows that the legitimist concept of statehood, created by Joseph de Maistre, became property of a part of the conservatively adjusted circles of the Russian society. It represented the classical sample conservative legitimist doctrine, reviving the idea about a divine origin of the Supreme power.
