- Abstract
- The author investigates mutual relations of the USSR and Italy during an "early detente". The article is based on new documents from the Archive of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of the newest history, and also on the Italian sources and literature. The author comes to conclusion that the Soviet-Italian attitudes developed as well as attitudes between the USSR and the West as a whole. In separate spheres, such as trade or cultural communications, Italy even advanced other countries of the West.
