Abstract

The article is devoted to the one of the most important and actual issues of the modern society – the problem of gender-based violence. The country selection is explained by the position of Spain among the countries that have managed to minimize the gender gap (Spain is on the 8th position according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2020). On the other hand, Spain is a country where the tradition of the macho is grate. The typical form of macho’s behavior is demonstration of his power and despite towards women. This phenomenon of the patriarchal Spanish society gave rise to a great number of “new&8j1; types of gender-based violence (micromachisms, neomachisms and others). The problem of gender-based violence is talked in Spain, there are laws, state organisations and nongovernmental Foundations that try to eliminate the problem. This phenomenon is being studied within the framework of linguistics, first of all in the context of use in speech of terms. It is worth noting the paper of the Spanish media which not only inform us but form vision on any problem. The issue of gender-based violence is discussed in the Spanish mass media that’s why only a complex approach to the problem can help us to eradicate this problem and make our vision behaviour stereotypes free.
