The pandemic of COVID-19 has en enormous impact not only on health services across the globe but for world politics as well. The new all-embracing eco-nomic crisis, which the pandemic provoked, is comparable in its depth to Great De-pression. It will strongly influence political processes on national and supranational levels. The problems of poverty and social inequality will deteriorate. Eurosceptic sentiments in the EU will hit new levels. The strategic decoupling of USA and EU seems to be speeding up. A new round of competition between Washington and Bei-jing is underway. Russia finds itself in the extremely difficult situation against the backdrop of collapse of oil prices. Bold collective multinational efforts are needed to fight the crisis. However, there slim chances that common sense is going to prevail.
