Abstract
In 2012 Argentina celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Falklands/Malvinas war. In the first half of 2012 age-old conflict came to a new level, mainly due to the active conduct of the Argentine side. The requirement of Buenos Aires to resume bilateral negotiations with the United Kingdom on the status of the disputed territories not another burst of diplomatic activity, but an important element of the long-term strategy of the second presidency of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, aimed at deepening the national-populist model, existing in this South American country since 2003.
