Abstract
The essay describes the fate of the Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz (1891-1980), which, according to Hitler's will, was the last head of the Third Reich. Despite the importance of Dönitz in the history of Nazi Germany, his identity has not been studied in such detail by historians as a person other Nazi leaders.
