Abstract
This is the first introduction into our humanities the newly found in the manuscripts of the archives of Mt. Athos the fundamental History of Athos. Close connection of the creation of the analised text with Russian St. Panteleemon monastery is advanced. There is presented the research of all found and known up to date versions of the «Athonias» by Jacobus Neaskytiotes, the athonite historiographer of the 19th century.
