Abstract
The article analyzes the mechanisms of the Internet's influence on the formation of “memory places” and “memory communities". The results of the study of multicultural digital memory of the population of Lublin and Bialystok are summarized. The article compares the memory presented on official city portals with the unofficial memory recorded in social networks and Wikipedia dictionary articles. The mechanisms of constructing group local memory are considered on the example of reflection in official and unofficial Internet sources of the situation of Jewish communities in Poland and relations between Polish and Jewish population in both cities.
