- Abstract
- The first attempts to identify problems and specific nature of national identity at the turn of the XVIII–XIX in Russia are considered. Those attempts originated not only from writers and philosophers, but from government and mainstream official science as well. Some problems of the interrelation between power and creative intelligencia are analyzed also. A newsmaking event for this discourse was 150th anniversary of the Pushkin ' s SOVREMENNIK journal that was celebrated in 2011 and reconsideration of its second issue for yr 1836.
