- Abstract
- The problem of modernization of Russian society at its contemporary stage of development is considered. Both formal documents by legislative and executive branches and the initiatives of Russian researchers and experts in the domain are analyzed. The Human dimensions of social and cultural modernization in Russia are compared with those in European countries. The conclusion that modernization process in Russia is stagnating and Russia is socially and culturally uncompetitive with the most European countries is substantiated
