Abstract
The Hotelling duopoly on the plane is investigated. On the plane there are two firms that announce prices for the goods, and buyers make a choice of the firm, comparing the costs of its visit. Costs are calculated as the sum of the price and the distance from the buyer to the firm. A Nash equilibrium is found for models in which the distance is calculated in the Euclidean and Manhattan manner. The problem of placement is solved, in which it is necessary to determine optimal location of firms.
